The National Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) revealed on Friday, June 3, in Abuja, that it had finished arrangements to initiate the transportation of 2022 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia on June 9.
Alhaji Zikrullah Hassan, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, made this announcement during the signing of an agreement between the commission and the three airlines that have been authorised to transport Nigerian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
Hassan disclosed that the three airlines approved by the Federal Government via the commission were the Max Air, Azman Air and Flynas (Saudi Arabia designated airline).
He asked the airlines to provide quality services with the standard is known in the aviation industry and regard all pilgrims as significant personalities.
Hassan also said that by Monday, June 6, the advance team of the commission would be moving to the city of Madina and Makkah.
As per him, by the point of the commission on June 9, the 2022 Hajj inaugural flight of Nigeria will move to Madina.
Moreover, Alhaji Abdullahi Hardawa, the NAHCON Commissioner of Operations, described the event as an eternity after almost three years without Hajj.
He gave his best wishes to the successful carriers while asking them to see their selection as a challenge to give their best.
The commission revealed that the commission has made an aviation monitoring committee loaded with the responsibility of watching their performances.
States assigned to specific airlines are: Azman Air is to aircraft pilgrims from 16 states and the Armed Forces. The states are Kano, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Enugu, Abia, Bayelsa, Delta, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Ondo, Rivers, Imo, Kaduna, Ogun and Yobe.
While Max Air is allocated to 13 states, namely Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Kwara, Gombe, Benue, Jigawa, Katsina, Plateau, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger and Taraba.
Meanwhile, FlyNas would airlift pilgrims from Edo, Kebbi, Lagos, Osun, FCT- Abuja, Oyo, Sokoto, and Zamfara- making eight states.
