Isah Idris, the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, has confirmed that Ukpo Nwamini David, the alleged victim in the organ harvesting case involving Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife is not 15 but 22 years old.
The Nigeria Immigration Service’s head stated David applied for an international passport through the use of the service’s portal.
The facts of the organ harvesting case are that the said David Ukpo Nwamina applied and paid for the enhanced standard passport through the use of the NIS portal, after which he went to the Gwagwalada Passport Office, FCT Abuja, on November 2, 2021, for an interview.
To support the facts, Nwamina presented all the required documents, including his National Population Commission (NPC) issued Birth Certificate, showing October 12 2000, as his date of birth; a letter of introduction issued by the Ebonyi State Government Liaison Office situated at Maitama District Abuja, and a Guarantor’s form duly signed by Uchechukwu Chukwuma Ogbonno and his National Identity Number (NIN) corroborating the date of birth on his birth certificate, issued by NIMC.
“The Nigerian Immigration Service trusts upon details and documentation from other government agencies like the National Population Commission, NPC, and the National Identification Management Commission, NIMC,” he said.
He further said that the case of David was not an exception as the Immigration Service followed all the due procedures in providing the international passport to him.
Therefore, as appealed to the public to understand that David was validly given a Nigerian International passport as a Nigerian.
When asked if the British government or the National Assembly had reached the Immigration office about the issue of David, he said nobody had contacted the service.
The case involved Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, who was said to bring a minor for organ harvesting, but it has now been found that the boy is an adult.
