The United States of America has expressed concern over violating human rights in nations like China, Myanmar and Pakistan. The observation came to light after they published the 2022 edition of the Country Reports on Human Rights Practices. As per the reports, the authorities have suggested that several crimes have occurred against humanity in the regions of China, Myanmar and Pakistan.
In China, the Muslim communities of Uyghur Muslims and other minority populations in the country. Several authorities in the Xinjiang region have engaged in crimes like arbitrary imprisonment, forced sterilization, forced abortions and implementation of the country’s population control policies. In 2022, the communities faced gender-based violence, including rape.
The other forms of human rights violation include forced labour for the community members whom the authorities detained. The minorities of the region are not allowed to exercise the freedom of religion or belief, expression or movement.
Similarly, the Myanmar region is also facing human rights violations. US report regarding human rights practices has detailed that the military regime in the area is engaging in violence and brutalities to continue their power and control of the country. In their bid to retain power in the area, the military dictatorship of the region has killed 2,900 people and detained more than 17,000 people since they assumed control after the 2021 military coup.
The people living under the military regime are currently dealing with genocide and other crimes against humanity with the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar. With this, reports also alluded to the situation in Afghanistan. The Taliban regime in the area is taking several relentless oppressive and repressive measures against the women in the region. In line with this, the report asserted that no other administration takes such repressive measures against the women.
According to them, No country stops women from getting access to education, such that this is a violation of an internationally recognized human right
