In the past, The actor had denied the allegation after his sex tape leaked last year. However, now he has officially come out as homosexual. The video of this announcement is going viral on the internet.


Last year, a private video of the actor having intercourse with another man surfaced on the internet. Following this, Maduagu confessed that he was having suicidal thoughts and battling the scandal’s effect.

However, in a new video that the Nollywood actor posted on his Instagram on Tuesday, the actor included the rainbow flag. The flag symbolises the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community.

According to the Nollywood actor, his close friends set him up and blackmailed him with the sex tape which surfaced on the internet a year ago.

Maduagu said he had considered the possibility of committing suicide if not for the words of encouragement from his family, who stopped him from taking such a step.

He took the opportunity to urge Nigerians to stop blackmailing their loved ones.

He drew on his own experience with blackmailing. The Nollywood actor stated that everything started after he had created a good life for himself.


“After getting a better life, my close friends set me up, blackmailed me, and leaked my sex tape. I became depressed and almost committed suicide.” He explained.

“My family saved me by giving me encouragement and advice.” The artist said. He confessed that the love from his family kept him going.

He expressed pride in living a better life, having accepted himself. He said, “Look at me now living my truth because I’ve now got a strong thick skin.”

“Love is love. Say no to blackmail. What will people say has killed many people,” he said.
