One individual in Nigeria lost his life during a shooting to send back protesting youth over the arrest of a youth who allegedly burnt a female student in Sokoto state.
A female named Deborah Yakuda was beaten and burnt after she sent a voice message in her class Whatsapp group while allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad. After several calls to bring the youth in front involved in the brutal crime, Police confirmed the capture of two persons.
However, some individuals on Saturday took to the roads, demanding the release of those who got arrested.
They blocked the palace of the Sultan of Sokoto to get officials to release the captured boys.
The Police threw tear gas to make the youth disperse and shot randomly in the air, killing one and injuring some.
The School has also been shut down in which the incident took place to make the situation calm in that part of Nigeria where residents have in the past violently reacted to comments or activities considered anti-Islamic.
Although the school authority instantly deployed security personnel to try and protect Samuel from the angry classmates, but the youths overpowered her and dragged her out of the shelter where she was kept hidden and beaten her before burning her alive.
The death of Samuel has provoked anger and shock among the citizens of Nigeria, and they are demonstrating their rage on social media.
On the other hand, some are considering the incident as righteous and are protesting over the release of the arrested boys.
This happening stresses the deep religious tension in the most famous country in Africa, which is nearly equally diverged between Christians in the south and Muslims in the north.
Although, Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal has stated that an investigation is also being done to find and arrest others related to this crime.
