The terrorists who kidnapped the passengers of the Abuja-Kaduna are asking for a ransom payment of N100 million for each of the 43 victims that are still in captivity.
As per the sources, the demand was conveyed to the families of the victims the past week.
Eleven hostages were freed by the terrorists on June 12 after they spent over 75 days in captivity, with the other seven getting their freedom on Saturday, July 9.
A family member of one of the victims has now disclosed that the terrorists were asking each family of the victims to bring a ransom of N100 million for the release of their family members.
According to the sources, the seven victims released on Saturday also paid a ransom of an unknown amount to them.
It is money that is still hindering the freedom of others. The terrorists are asking for ransom now. The seven releases paid the money.
Terrorists have reached out to families regarding the payment of the ransom.
The situation is that if the families want their loved ones to be released, then they will have to pay the ransom of N100 million.
Another family member added that the terrorists were no longer interested in any negotiations with the federal government, and they all needed N100 million from each family. He said that they tried to please with the terrorists to lessen the ransom as some of them could not afford to pay such a huge amount.
The individual stated that “My loved one has not been freed, those that were freed paid N100m. I do not have that kind of money. The kidnappers got in contact with us.”
“They stated they were no longer bargaining with the Federal Government. Getting N100m is the difficulty many of us do not have”, he said.
