The Northern Governors Forum has expressed their condolences to Honorable Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, the President of the Court of Appeal, over the sudden demise of her son, who died on July 22, 2022, Saturday.
Simon Lalong, the Chairman of the Forum and Governor of the Plateau State of Nigeria, in a statement on Monday, July 25, on behalf of his colleagues, described the incident of the death of Prince Shapnaan. The latter was just 38 years old before his sudden demise as, a very sad one which he is still finding hard to believe.
He stated that the Northern Governors were shocked over this news and also devasted by the loss of a vibrant young man who had been working hard to prepare himself for the national service in his choice of career.
Lalong while sharing in the grief of the Appeal Court, President Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, stated that the Forum stands with her in this challenging moment in which she is going through the pains of losing another son.
He asked her to accept the death of her son as the will of God and stay faithful to him to comfort her and cure her pains of such a tragic loss of a loved one.
The Governor also prayed to God to forgive the sins of the one who lost his life and grant him with eternal peace while comforting the rest of the family members.
