PM Drew congratulates 26 Police Recruits graduate from Course 46

The event called, the 43rd Passing Out Parade of Police Recruits, Course 46 was attended by the leader of St Kitts and Nevis among other government officials

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew congratulated twenty-six candidates who officially graduated from Course 46, following the Passing Out Ceremony, which was held at the Newtown Playing Field on Tuesday.

The event called, the 43rd Passing Out Parade of Police Recruits, Course 46 was attended by the leader of St Kitts and Nevis among other government officials. This historic achievement will always be cherished as the course consisted largest number of female recruits.

It is worth noting that the platoon was led by Danecia Henry of No. 446 W/Const and Patrick Bradshaw of No. 076 S/Const. Moreover, for the first time ever in history, the platoon was led by the recruits.

“Last evening we celebrated the 4rd Passing Out Parade of Police Recruits, Course 46 of the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force and I must say I was indeed proud and pleased by what I saw”, added PM, Drew.

The six months of graduation period ended with pride and happiness on the faces of the candidates. Out of 26, ten were males and sixteen were females.

The prime minister lauded the dedication, commitment, and discipline of candidates who brought laurels to their country and families.

As officers are working as a shield to the nation, PM Drew wished them good luck for their new journey.

“Congratulations to the brave men and women of Course 46. Your unwavering commitment, discipline, and dedication have brought you to this pivotal juncture- a moment that not only signifies just the culmination of your rigorous training but also the commencement of your noble journey as Police Officers, working to safeguard our beloved nation”, stated prime minister.

Additionally, many candidates took part in the Independence 40 Drill Competition and they performed admirably, and were placed third in the individual and group categories.

Notably, Constable Zemani Wallace earned the title of the Best Recruit of Course 46 and he has received the Police Commissioner’s Baton of Honour along with the Prime Minister’s Plaque and the Best Recruit Trophy.

He has also received awards for the Best in Weapons Training, Self-Defense, and Pistol Shooting.

Moreover, the ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Drew, Dame Marcella Liburd, Justice Patrick Thompson, and Geoffrey Hanley among others.
