The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ernest Hilaire, recently took to his social media account to commend the mayor and her team for organizing the ‘City Vybes’ at Constitution Park in Castries Constituency of Saint Lucia.

Through this initiative, the Castries Constituency Council hoped to create economic activity and showcase our local arts. The “City Vybes” event welcomed cruise passengers in Port Castries today, stay-over visitors and Saint Lucians to witness the creativity and skills of the creatives in Saint Lucia at the constituency park within the city centre on Sunday, February 5, 2023

Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire shared the update on the “City Vybes” event on his social media. During the event, several visitors who had landed on the shores of Saint Lucia atop cruise ships had the chance to explore the culture and creativity that Saint Lucia offers. Several visitors bought paintings from the stalls. Several others enjoyed the music that the youth of Saint Lucia was playing during the “City Vybes.”

Further, the scenes and glimpses shared by Deputy PM Hilaire featured several of the attendants buying local saint Lucia crafts and handmade jewellery from the people of Saint Lucia. These included jewellery, bracelets, earrings, neck chains, and necklaces. The event featured several other stalls. One of the present visitors at the Constituency Pak interacted with the media. She told them about the experiences of her visit.

It is worth noting that Saint Lucia is in the midst of their cruise season and has been receiving several cruise calls. The cruise season is an important part of the economic and tourism calendar of Saint Lucia. Cruise ships that grace Saint Lucia’s shores also bring many opportunities for tourism stakeholders and local business people in the form of increased economic activity, and exposure of the Saint Lucian culture to the rest of the world.
