President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, will be flying out of the country on Thursday, 19 May, to visit the new President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to present his condolences on the demise of his late brother and former President of UAE.
Buhari will be presenting his consolations on the passing of the former Ruler of Abu Dhabi and President of UAE.
This was made known through a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity of the President, Garba Shehu.
While announcing his departure, Garba Shehu stated that the President’s trip was to offer his consolations on the demise of the former President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed.
He also stated that the President will be departing Abuja on Thursday and will also extend his best wishes to the new President of the UAE, renewing bonds of years-old friendship between Nigeria and UAE.
In an earlier congratulatory message to the new ruler, the President had reaffirmed the cordial relationship of Nigeria with the country, stressing that the cooperation between both countries’ governments has helped Nigeria track down the illegal assets and the terrorist funds.
It was also told that under the new leadership, President Buhari looks forward towards a stronger and bigger partnership for stability, peace and prosperity of both nations.
Garba Shehu also stated, “President Buhari will also be accompanied by the Minister of State Foreign Affairs, Amb. Zubairu Dada, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, and the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika.”
“Other members of his board are the National Security Adviser, Major General Mohammed Monguno (retd) and the Director-General, National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar. The President is anticipated to be back in the country by Saturday.”
