Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Governor of Anambra State, has announced a reward of N10 million for anyone that has essential information that will lead to the immediate arrest of the wrongdoers of Hon. Okechukwu Okoye’s death.
The Governor expressed his deep sadness and shock over the brutal murder of Okoye, a member that was representing Aguata II Constituency at the State House of Assembly.
Okoye was abducted by unknown gunmen last week and was then brutally killed by slaying his head.
On Saturday, 21 May, Okoye’s head was found without his body near the Nnobi in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Tochukwu Ikenga, who is the Police Public Relations Officer, affirmed the incident on the night of Saturday when his head was discovered. His body has still not been found, and investigations are being carried out to locate the same and also the criminals.
Governor Soludo, in a statement signed by his press secretary, Christian Aburime, condoling with the relatives of Isuofia, said that those accountable for his murder are likely the same criminal gang that attacked him and killed three police officers at Isuofia two years ago.
He promised that wrongdoers of this brutal act and all criminals in Anambra would be given proper punishment by law.
His statement further read, “Governor Soludo has therefore set an N10 million reward for anyone or group that will provide valuable information that will lead to the immediate detention of the perpetrators of this cruel act. Anambra will soon be hell for these criminals.”
Soludo further ensured Ndi Anambra of its cooperation with the security agencies to deal with these criminals and assure they are brought to justice.
“Anambra will win against the powers of darkness”, Governor Soludo assured, suggesting Ndi Anambra to brace up for the all-out war against the criminals.
