Nigeria: President of Nigeria- Muhammadu Buhari, took to social media and expressed pleasure to be back in Imo State- the Eastern Heartland. He visited the state with the purpose of commissioning projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodinma’s administration.
“I was delighted to be back in Imo State – the Eastern Heartland – to commission projects executed by the Governor Hope Uzodinma administration,” said the president.
While appreciating the work done by his administration, President Buhari highlighted that in just three of his government, he visited the State two times to make the work completed.
He noted,”I must say that, within just three years of the administration, I have made two official visits to Imo State to commission projects. As the Igbos say, a good road deserves a second passage.”
He expressed pleasure after Governor had made the provision of good roads one of his top priorities.
President Buhari asserted, “It is a pleasant coincidence that the name “Uzodinma” is derived from this same idiom. It is therefore not surprising that the Governor has made the provision of good roads one of his top priorities.”
He expressed joy to see the presence of the various dignitaries in the commissioning of the project. He added that he is very happy to see that the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration of Governor Uzodinma is emulating the Federal Government in the commitment to critical infrastructure.
President Buhari commended the Governor for being able to do this with the limited resources at the disposal of the State Government. The Federal Government will continue to support the government of Imo State to ensure that it continues to provide the dividends of democracy to the people.
Earlier, President Buhari inaugurated a Presidential Committee on the National Economy to bring together all policymakers who are responsible for the economy against the destruction caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the complications have been created by the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which resulted in a decline in the oil reduction of Nigeria.
