Castries: The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Ernest Hilaire, who is also serving as the Minister for Tourism and Creative Industries expressed his commitment to enhance the country’s infrastructure to avoid any kind of dispute between entertainment and sporting sectors.
He also shared that the private institutions will be given incentives, who wants to set up entertainment areas. DY PM Hilaire attended a pre-cabinet press briefing on Monday, where he expressed his commitment to create a room for the events and other entertainment occasions.
For this purpose, Tourism Minister addressed the friction between the entertainment and sporting sectors due to continuous sink of the facilities. He understands the urgency of the dedicated facilities or venues for both the sporting and entertainment sectors, so one should not be forced to call off their event because of another.
While speaking about the incentives to the private organisation, a question was raised if the government will provide the support to them as the same goal as the authorities set up entertainment areas, the DY PM Hilaire said ‘Yes.’
“I think if any entity wants to set up any private interest, wants to set up an entity of venue, they can approach the government of the incentive”, he said during pre-cabinet press briefing.
In February, many queries have been reported by several sporting facilities, especially in the north of Saint Lucia regarding the dedicated venue. Acting upon this, Hilaire proposed plans to develop the infrastructure of the country during February 5 pre-cabinet press briefing.
