PM Drew tours Hyperbaric Chambers, focuses to improve healthcare services

Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew paid a visit to the CDA Technical Institute of the West Indies to explore the Hyperbaric Chambers at the Industrial Site.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew paid a visit to the CDA Technical Institute of the West Indies to explore the Hyperbaric Chambers at the Industrial Site to address various health issues in the country. 

The tour was conducted to explore the life-changing opportunities of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The prime minister was joined by Austin Edinborough, who is serving as an Advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office, Captain Ray Black and CEO McClean as Owner/ Director of the Hyperbaric Chamber.

PM Drew added that this therapy involves breathing 100 per cent pure oxygen, that will ease the medical supplies and boost the healthcare sector of twin-island Federation.

The leader of St Kitts and Nevis took to his official social media handle (Facebook) to update the public about his visit to the hyperbaric chambers. 

“We had the opportunity to explore the transformative capabilities of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This pioneering therapy involves breathing 100% pure oxygen within a pressurized hyperbaric chamber, offering a revolutionary approach to medical treatment”, PM Drew added. 

Furthermore, the prime minister engaged in discussions with the medical staff of the institution. The potential for the institute to collaborate closely with the government, with the aim of utilizing these chambers to address serious health problems, including diabetes-related complications such as poor circulation and ulcerated feet.

The hyperbaric chambers will also treat conditions such as carbon monoxide poisoning, decompression sickness, gas gangrene and radiation injury.

PM Drew has always been active in taking an interest in such meetings, which will be fruitful for the overall development of the country. Under his leadership, St Kitts and Nevis has noted several reformations in a short period of time.

While keeping in mind the welfare of people, the government is consistently working to enhance the facility at JNF General Hospital, which is known as the best hospital in the town. The leader of twin-island nation expressed his commitment to made significant strides in delivering improved healthcare to the people.
