Governor Douye Diri recieves New Year Visit from predecessor

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri received his immediate predecessor Senator Henry Seriake Dickson.

Bayelsa: Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri received his immediate predecessor Senator Henry Seriake Dickson. The meeting took place at the country home of the governor in Sampou in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area.

Senator Henry Seriake Dickson is representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District. The two leaders met for a New Year visit on January 3. Governor Douye Diri was accompanied by his wife, Justice Patience Ama Diri.

Governor Diri stated that he will continue to be grateful to Senator Dickson for his continuous support to him and the prosperity government.

“We didn’t actually come to Toru-Orua, for our leader to retaliate, but the truth is, if someone does good to you, it is always good to appreciate it.” Said the governor of Bayelsa state.

“Even though we are brothers and friends, you have done us good, and in times like this, it is good we come to thank you. But seeing what we did, and because of the good leader that you are, you have to retaliate, and this is the third time this is happening.” The governor added.

So, on behalf of the government and good people of our dear state, we are still saying thank you, and this will continue until when God says it is our time to go. This is the time for us to continue to preach love, and that is what we are showing to the younger ones, that when somebody does good to you, appreciate the person,” Governor Diri stated.

  • Secretary to the state government, members of the state executive council,
  • Caucus chairmen of the People’s Democratic party,
  • King Onya Mozi Agara, Ibedaowei of Kolokuma Clan
  • Famous Usukoromogha, Amananaowei of Sampou Community, Chiefs,

The aforementioned members of the state were accompanied by women and youths of Kolokuma/Opokuma, and other top government officials.
