Edo: Gov Obaseki applauds former VP Yemi Osibanjo

The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has applauded the immediate past Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo. He acknowledged the politician for his commitment to the growth and development of the country.

He acknowledged the politician for his commitment to the growth and development of the country. The governor of the Edo state has been working diligently towards ensuring a good life for the people of the state.

The governor and his team have taken several initiatives to raise the standard of living for the people. In line with this, he acknowledged the thrust and commitment of the former Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo.

He made this remark on Sunday, July 9, 2023, during the homecoming event held in honour of the former Vice President. Ikenne, Ogun State served as the venue for the homecoming celebration for the former Vice President.

Obaseki described the out-gone Vice President as an intellectual, diligent and visionary personality. The governor of Edo state praised the Vice President with the following words: “Working with him as Vice-President, working with a man who has vision, a man who is committed to this country, a man who has character, and a man who has integrity, for me, was a unique experience.

“We will continue to benefit from the hard work, the leadership and the commitment you provided us during your tenure”. On his part, former Vice President Yemi Osibanjo appreciated dignitaries and attendees for gracing the occasion.

In a charge to young people present at the occasion, Prof. Osibanjo also delivered his remarks. He stated, “Your future, your destiny, your progress has only just begun. Wherever it is that we stopped is only your own starting point. He also added we will be there with you to support you and to enable you to achieve the highest that you can achieve.”

Also present at the event were the wife of Edo State Governor, Betsy Obaseki; the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Dr Dapo Abiodun; the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri; amongst others.
