“It gives me delight and pleasure today that we gathered here to celebrate our three years in office. Not only by drumming and dancing but by commissioning this all-important infrastructure, the NYSC permanent orientation camp here in Kaiama, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area.”

Meanwhile, He expressed his sincere appreciation to the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, for this project. He reasoned that the moment he took over as governor, one of the projects he had in mind was the construction of a permanent orientation camp here in Kaiama. Accordingly, Governor Diri noted that he was glad his dream of having this camp here came true.

Elaborating further, Governor Douye Diri noted that My vision is that this camp should be put to use, so we started the renovation of the whole buildings that were vandalized. And in consultation with the NYSC, because of the security of our corps members, we quickly mobilized and fenced around the camp. He also added that we would continue to partner with federal agencies for the overall development of our state and country.

On behalf of the government and people of Bayelsa State, Governor Diri welcomed corps members to the state. He assured the corps that Bayelsa is a very friendly state, and we will continue to be nice and welcome those who come here to do legitimate business. With the military and paramilitary agencies here in camp with you, and even as you are deployed to different parts of the state after your orientation, we assure you that your safety is our number one priority.
