The administrations of Pakistan and Afghanistan were close at one point in recent history. However, the two nations are in the middle of a two-sided war. The two contenders in this war are The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and the Afghani Taliban. The tussle between the two organizations has worsened.

American defence and political analyst Andrew Karibko observed during an interview that the successive terror attacks from the TTP have brought the two faces of the Taliban to the spotlight. One face is the good Taliban, and the other, the bad Taliban.

The media reports quoted Madsen Center for International Affairs Chief Executive Geoffrey. He informed the media about the demands of the Taliban. One of the demands is the resolution of the status of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). Further, they have asked to remove the fence built on the Afghan border.

The government of Pakistan has recently taken a no-tolerance policy against terrorism. In response, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan threatened to attack two of Pakistan’s most influential political parties. The stance of no tolerance comes when the TTP and Pakistan government peace treaty has been revoked.

Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif, revealed that Afghanistan is making weapons to attack Pakistan despite the peace treaty. Further, the politician has indicated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa accounts for 58% of Pakistan’s terror incidents. Some of these incidents have also occurred in Balochistan.

Meanwhile, the terror outfit, Tehreek-e-Pakistan, has urged the political leaders of Pakistan not to wage war against them to appease the United States. They have threatened the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for “waging war against the outfit”
