India: Sikh Community protest against Tricolor incident in UK

After a group of Khalistan activists disrespected the Indian National Flag, the tricolour, during a protest at the Indian High Commissioner in the United Kingdom, the members of the Sikh community in Delhi came out to stage a protest against the act of disrespect in the region.

The Sikh community has further demanded that the authorities take appropriate actions against the people accused of the crime.

Notably, the Khalistan supporters in the United Kingdom pulled down the national flag ahead to register their protest. The government of India has demanded that the authorities take action against the people involved in the protests. They also called for the authorities to ensure that they take action to ensure the safety and security of the High Commission in India.

Several members of the Sikh community gathered at the Indian High Commission in Delhi on Monday, March 20, 2023. They came together to register their disappointment over the incident. In line with this, hundreds of members of the Sikh community raised the slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai and Vande Mataram.

While talking about the incident at the Indian High Commission in the UK, a member of the Sikh Community who was taking part in the protest at the Indian High Commission in Delhi shared that the incident was wrong. Adding to this thought, he shared that the Khalistani flag was raised instead of the Indian flag, which was disrespectful to the country.

He stated that the Sikh community of the country love and respects the country and its symbols in the region. Another protestor gathered around the High Commission of India expressed that they do not support the Khalistan movement. He said that he wants to urge all the members of the Sikh community, before doing something like what happened in front of the UK High Commission, they should remember that they are Indians.
