Ambassador Mircea meets President Sylanie Burton during her visit
Ambassador Mircea also met with the Dominican President, Sylanie Burton, during her official visit and presented her with the Letters of Credence. The two discussed various topics to improve bilateral relations between Dominica and Romania.Â
The delegates also explored topics for possible collaborations in different sectors, including tourism, trade, health, education, science, and technology, along with sustainable coastal development.
During the meeting, President Burton highlighted Dominica’s major priorities being climate-change resilience and renewable energy sources, as small islands like Dominica are often prone to climate change due to natural disasters.
Ambassador Mircea responded to this and said that they know the importance of Small-island Developing States (SIDS) when it comes to fighting climate change. She added that Romania is working actively in this field, not only at the EU level, but also in the multilateral forum.
