Dominica: St.Mark seals victory over St. George in Parish T10 Cricket Festival

St. Mark defeated St. George by 26 runs during a match played under the Independence Parish T10 Cricket Festival.

Roseau, Dominica: St. Mark defeated St. George by 26 runs during a match played under the Independence Parish T10 Cricket Festival. The competition is organized by the Sports Division in the Ministry of Culture, youth, sports and community development.

Winning the toss and batting first, St. Mark scored 93 runs in ten overs by losing four wickets. The match was played at Botanic Gardens in Roseau, Dominica.

Vivian Titre remained the top scorer from the St. Mark side and in entire match. He scored a fantastic unbeaten half-century (50). Terrel Toussaint, his teammate, also contributed a significant 20 runs, forming a partnership of 70 runs. For the first innings, St. Mark scored 93 runs by losing 4 wickets.

The bowlers of St. George failed to make a significant impact with the ball against St Mark’s batters. They dominated St. John’s bowlers, giving them a massive target of 94 to chase in 10 overs. The St. George’s bowlers managed only to take one wicket each: Ethan Doctrove 1/6, Kharmal Hamilton 1/13, and Sherwin Labassiere 1/18.

Things didn’t go well for St. George as expected in the second innings. The team crumbled against the furious bowling attack of St. Mark. St. George were all out in 9 overs, scoring 68 runs.

Reginald Seaman and Kharmal Hamilton remained the top scorers from St. George, scoring 21 and 10. Ellon Pascal, the 14-year-old, dominated St. George with the ball, taking four wickets in his spell by giving just 13 runs.

Delivering two overs, Pascal of St. Mark ended with four wickets for 13 runs in two overs, including a hattrick on day 2 of the Independence Parish T10 Cricket Festival. Shaheim Caesar also delivered an excellent spell, taking two wickets and concealing only five runs.

St. Mark won by 26 runs. Vivian Titre received the Player of the Match award for scoring a half-century (50) and for being the top scorer in the game.
