Fulham are reportedly reigniting their interest in Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze as the Premier League side look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 26-year-old winger, currently on pre-season duty with AC Milan, has been linked with a move away from the San Siro, following an underwhelming spell since his €20 million switch from Spanish side Villarreal in 2023.
Despite the initial hype surrounding his arrival in Italy, Chukwueze struggled to cement a regular starting role under successive managers and registered just three goals and two assists in 918 minutes of Serie A action last season.
According to reports from Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fulham are “keeping an eye” on the Super Eagles forward, as Milan look to trim their squad and raise funds amid financial constraints caused by missing out on UEFA Champions League qualification.
The publication, cited via Milan Press, noted that Chukwueze is one of several fringe players who could be offloaded, with midfielders Ismaël Bennacer and Yacine Adli already on the exit list.
This is not the first time the Cottagers have shown interest in Chukwueze. The West London club previously attempted to secure his services during the January transfer window but failed to reach an agreement with the Rossoneri.
However, Fulham manager Marco Silva remains an admirer of the winger’s pace and flair and appears keen to revisit the deal this summer.
Chukwueze recently featured in Milan’s 4-2 pre-season win over Premier League champions Liverpool at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong. He came off the bench in the 63rd minute to replace Portuguese star Rafael Leao but had little impact on the match.
With three years still remaining on his contract, Milan are not expected to part with Chukwueze for a bargain fee, but the club’s current financial realities may force a more flexible approach.
In total, the Nigerian has scored five goals and provided nine assists in 69 appearances across all competitions for the Italian giants.
Fulham are expected to face competition should they proceed with formal negotiations, but the club is reportedly determined to complete the move after narrowly missing out earlier this year.
As Milan continue their squad overhaul, the coming weeks will be crucial in determining whether Chukwueze becomes the latest Super Eagle to grace the English top flight.
