Dominica: Dr. Irving McIntyre – Finance Minister of Dominica presented the 2024/2025 National Budget under the theme “Partnering to build a Platform for Sustainable Group and Development.”
Under the Budget presentation, the government proposed total recurrent expenditure of $679.4 million which will be allocated to various of the ministries with the significant amount as follows:
Office of the President: 1.2 million
Integrity in Public Office Commission: 0.5 million
Public and Police Service Commission: 0.4 million
The legislature: 1.2 million
Audit Department: 1.1 million
Electoral Office: 1.9 million
Ministry of National Security: 60.6 million
Office of the Prime Minister: 10. 4 million
Ministry of Finance: 296.3 million
Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy : 9 million
Ministry of Education: 70.0 million
Ministry of Housing and Urban Development: 6.2 million
Ministry of Health Wellness and Social Services: 81.9 million
Ministry of Environment: 11.2 million
Ministry of Tourism: 20. 6 million
Ministry of Culture: 12.8 million
Training Department: 9.9 million
Ministry of Public Works: 55 million
Ministry of Foreign Affairs: 22.8 million
Cabinet Office: 3.5 million
Ministry of Labour: 2.2 million
Considerably, the total amount presented under the Budget is EC $1.4 billion which has allocated been under recurrent and capital expenditure to various sectors and ministries. Where the amount under recurrent expenditure is $679.4million and $934.9 million for capital expenditure.
The Capital expenditure also is allocated to different sectors, from which the highest amount has been dedicated to the Office of the Minister with 490 million. And, the amount for the Public works ministry introduced is 164.8 million.
And, the amount for the Agriculture Ministry, Ministry of Environment and Kalinago upliftment and Ministry of Foreign Affairs International Trade and Energy is 52.2 million, 41.2 million and 32.8 million respectively.

Ministry of Natural Security and Legal Affairs: 4.3 million
Electoral Office: 0.8 million
Ministry of Finance: 10 million
Education Ministry: 22.8 million
Ministry of Housing and Urban Development: 17.5 million
Ministry of Health: 7.5 million
Ministry of Tourism: 17.2 million
Ministry of Culture: 11.8 million
Training Department: 1.7 million
Ministry of Labour: 6.5 million
