The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Ernest Hilaire recently took to his social media account to share the schedule for the 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐄 event. The occasion will be a part of Saint Lucia’s Art and the City Festival. The organizers will host the Word in Altered scale event for two days, featuring an eclectic mix of spoken word/poetry and music.
The event will also feature young up-and-coming Saint Lucian poets. Additionally, Saint Lucia’s Arts & Letters 2010 Laureate, Martiniquan Poet 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧 and Trinidadian Female Poet 𝐙𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐲𝐚 𝐆𝐢𝐥𝐥. The event will be held for two days.
On Monday, May 8, 2023, and Tuesday, May 9, 2023, the Ministry of the creative economy will host the Word in Altered Scale event at the Pointe Seraphine. The event will start at 7:30 PM on both days. Admission for the event is XC $40 or US $15.
Additionally, per the Minister of the creative economy, Hilaire, The return of the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival will feature some of our most talented creatives in Saint Lucia. The event will allow them to rub shoulders with world-renowned artists. Minister Ernest Hilaire is handling the responsibility for the hosting of the Art and the City Festival.
Additionally, the Deputy Prime Minister, Ernest Hilaire talked about the details of the event. He asserted that during the 2023 edition of the event., they will also bring back the culture-filled arts component to the festivities this year. According to him, ‘Arts and The City’ is a concept that will showcase the local creative talents of Saint Lucia by turning the City Center into the Arts Hub throughout the festival.
Minister Hilaire asserted that the Jazz and Arts festival promises to be big this year. He also expressed his excitement for the event and said I look forward to seeing our local talents on stage. The Jazz and Arts festival which encompasses the ‘Arts and The City’ concept will start from May 5 to May 14.
