An angry mob has set a thief on fire at Afor Nkpor market in the Idemili North Local Government Area of the Anambra State of Nigeria.
The thief had arrived at the market and pointed his gun toward a few people in the market while asking them to surrender all that they were carrying immediately.
It was found that in this process of passing over the said items to him, one of the victims shouted at the top of his voice that they were being looted, which grabbed the attention of other passers-by.
On noticing that other people in the market had been alerted, the suspect tried to escape from the scene but was caught by some angry youth who had rushed to the scene.
The suspect was instantly set on fire by the angry mob with his motorcycle and gun even as on-lookers recognised him as one of a three-person armed robbery gang which escaped death by the whiskers when two of his abettors were earlier set on fire at the Ogidi building materials market during last week.
On a fateful day, they were also said to have robbed some victims in the Ogidi area but fled with the motorcycle.
It was then found that the same motorcycle he fled with was the one that he also tried to use in robbing once again before he met his waterloo.
When contacted, Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Spokesperson in the state, said he was not aware o this incident but asked for some time to contact the Ogidi Divisional Police Officer, Ekuri Remigius.
