Ernest Hilaire welcomes Taiwanese Delegation, discuss further collaboration

Castries: The Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Ernest Hilaire shared the plans of the Taiwan government to invest in the business projects of the island nation to strengthen the diplomatic relations between both nations.

The announcement was made during the three-day visit of the Taiwanese business delegation in Saint Lucia. During the time, they touched several topics of concern in the time of presentation, given by the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, CIP, and Export Saint Lucia among others.

Hilaire offered the investors a warm welcome with a promising visit full of inspiration. The DY PM Hilaire, who also serves as a Minister for Tourism and Investment shared the update of Taiwanese delegation’s visit to the island through his official social media handle (Facebook).

“A Taiwanese delegation looking to explore investment opportunities and strengthen business relationships with Saint Lucia spend three days on island, listening to presentations by the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, our Citizenship by Investment Program, Export Saint Lucia, Invest Saint Lucia, the Department of Economic Development and the National Housing Corporation”, added Tourism Minister Hilaire.

The presentations featured various topics for potential investment opportunities including Saint Lucia’s National Housing plan. The agencies displayed a variety of rich opportunities in the key industries of the island nation.

The DY PM Hilaire expected this productive meeting to bring positive outcomes. He expressed his excitement and confidence to welcome more investment opportunities in the island.

Adding to the facts, the Government of Saint Lucia runs its economic investment immigration program since 2016. Almost 14 investors from the Republic of China (Taiwan) have been given the citizenships through this programme.

Noting this, those investors received an opportunity to experience the country’s growing economy, picturesque landscape, soothing scenery, vibrant culture, rich heritage and mouth-watering cuisines.

The arrival of the investors from Taiwan made possible with the invitation of DY PM Hilaire and the business trip was titled as, “Beyond the Passport: Saint Lucia Investment Discovery Tour.”

Such efforts by the Tourism Minister of Saint Lucia showcased his efforts and unwavering dedication for the development of CIP. He has always been active in taking interest in international meetings, underscore the importance of foreign relations.
