The Deputy Prime Minster of Saint Lucia, Ernest Hilaire, commemorated the occasion of Labour Day on May 1, 2023. The Minister of Investment, Creative Economy and Tourism et al. took to his social media to share the greetings. Labour Day is a significant part of the celebratory calender of the Caribbean region ad seeks to celebrate the working population of various countries that celebrate the holiday.
Labour Day is internationally recognized as a day to celebrate the achievements and contributions that the working ass makes to the country’s development. He wrote: Happy Labour Day to the hardworking men and women of Saint Lucia. While acknowledging the contribution of the working class in nation-building, Deputy PM Hilaire noted that the government and the people of the country must never allow their hard work and effort to go unnoticed. He admitted that the workers are the reason for the success of our nation.
Workers’ dedication and hard work have helped build a resilient island. He gave credit to the country’s development. He noted that the country’s working population have stood the test of time and has pushed through some of our darkest times to emerge successful. Further, Labour Day was a government-mandated holiday in the country.
