While acknowledging the contribution of the working class in nation-building, Deputy PM Hilaire noted that the government and the people of the country must never allow their hard work and effort to go unnoticed. He admitted that the workers are the reason for the success of our nation.

Workers’ dedication and hard work have helped build a resilient island. He gave credit to the country’s development. He noted that the country’s working population have stood the test of time and has pushed through some of our darkest times to emerge successful. Further, Labour Day was a government-mandated holiday in the country.
