Two men have been arrested in Nigeria’s Nasarwa State police station for raping a 14-year-old girl till she went unconscious. The locals of the area and the police authorities had stated that the suspects were armed when they broke into the victim’s house.
According to a source in the community, The suspects arrested on the count of rape of a minor were armed with machetes, cutlasses, sticks and other dangerous objects. They broke into the victim’s house in the Kwarra community, Wamba local government area, on Monday, September 19. They forcefully took the victim to a bush area and raped her till she was unconscious.
According to the source, “Three armed men, who used to work as herders, came to the victim’s abode and forcefully took her to a bush where they gang-raped her till she passed out. They had knives, weapons and sharp objects capable of killing a person. The assailants stabbed and raped the girl to unconsciousness.”
It is a sad situation as she couldn’t get the assistance of any kind to save herself from the hands of the hooligans while the men carried out the immoral act.”
The spokesperson of the state police, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident on Wednesday in Lafia, the state capital. He also stated that the authorities arrested two herders connected to the crime.
The Herdsmen were identified as Umar Shehu’ M’, 19 years, and Dare Bello’ M’, 18 years. They were residents of the community.
The spokesperson added, “The herdsmen were armed with cutlasses and sticks, and they were able to carry out the act because the girl’s father was sick and there was no other individual to help her at that time. But as soon as the information got to the police, we quickly deployed our personnel to rescue the girl and apprehend the perpetrators of the act.”
The police authorities immediately took the girl to the hospital after they got there, and the girl was given treatment based on her symptoms and the information that was available to the police.
