LAMAT 2024 concludes on successful note, PM Drew aims to enhance healthcare services 

PM Terrance Drew attended a closing ceremony for the LAMAT 2024 mission, which was held at the St Kitts Marriott Resort on Tuesday to enhance the healthcare services.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew attended a closing ceremony for the LAMAT 2024 mission, which was held at the St Kitts Marriott Resort on Tuesday to enhance the healthcare services to the people in the Federation. 

He was accompanied by the Foreign Minister, Dr Denzil Douglas in the event of US Air Force Southern Command Lesser Antilles Medical Assistance Team (LAMAT). The campaign included a series of training session from March 18-26.

The local medical professionals were given free training and assistance with unique skills and knowledge. They focused on providing required and advanced healthcare services to patients across the nation.

PM Drew took to his official social media handle (Facebook) to share the update of his visit at the LAMAT ceremony. 

“From March 18 to 26, a dedicated team of medical professionals embarked on a mission of compassion and care, providing essential healthcare services to pre-selected patients across the Federation. Invaluable training sessions were also held, empowering local medical staff with new skills and knowledge”, added Prime Minister Drew. 

It is worth mentioning that till the last day, the medical staff provided health care services to more than two thousand patients. The 43 US Air Force active duty and reserve airmen arrived with the purpose of offering several services to the patients, such as, 

– Audiology

– Ophthalmology

– Emergency medical services

They were accompanied by other specialists from the Republic of China, who supported them in the training sessions. PM Drew extended a vote of thanks to all the medical practitioners who left no stone unturned in order to provide assistance to the citizens of the country. 

“A heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this mission possible- from the incredible team on the ground to our partners and supporters”, remarked the leader of St Kitts and Nevis.

Following this mission, the twin-island Federation will receive several benefits in the field of medicine and healthcare through collaboration with the Lesser Antilles Medical Assistance Team. 

Additionally, PM Drew has always been active in providing a sustainable living standard to the people of St Kitts and Nevis. He expressed his commitment to fostering medical services with advanced technologies.
