India: Ajit Doval meets US counterpart, lauds iCET initiative

National Security Advisor of India, Ajit Doval, attended a high-level roundtable conference on Monday, January 30, 2023. US India Business Council (USIBC) of the US Chambers of Commerce hosted the high-level roundtable conference, during which Indian NSA Doval interacted with his US counterpart, Jake Sullivan.

US India Business Council (USIBC) of the US Chambers of Commerce hosted the high-level roundtable conference, during which Indian NSA Doval interacted with his US counterpart, Jake Sullivan. 

During the conference, Ajit Doval noted that the two countries need to work on converting ideas and intentions into actions and specific deliverables through focused steps in a time-bound manner. 

Meanwhile, the two NSAs commended the launch of the iCET in light of the naturally complementary strengths of their economies. And the growing convergence between the two nations. They also remarked that Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET ) would accelerate US’ strategic technology partnership with India. 

The National Security of United States, Jake Sullivan, pointed out the road ahead for the two nations. He said that the governments of India and the United States of America aim to create a list of First. The National Security councils of India and America are leading the initiative of iCET. It focuses on strengthening the partnership between India and the United states on the technologies that will drive global growth, maintain India-IS economic competitiveness, and protect shared national security interests. 

Accordingly, Sullivan highlighted iCET would accelerate the United States’ strategic technology partnership with India. At the same time, it will assist in advancing the two countries shared democratic values. He committed to working with NSA Doval to remove barriers on both sides.

The roundtable was attended by several important international entities, including:

  • Sanjay Mehrotra, President and CEO of Micron Technology
  • Ambassador Atul Keshap, President of the US-India Business Council 
  • US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo
  • Vinayak Dalmia, member of the Government of India’s business delegation

All the attendants of the event commented on the role of partnership between India and United states for the technological advancements of the future.
