The spokesperson of the Russian President, Vladimir Putin from Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, informed reporters that the president might attend the G-20 summit in India later in the year. The spokesperson asserted that the world could not rule out the possibility of his attendance. However, at the same time, he added that the Russian politician or his team have not yet decided.

Russia is a part of the G-20 and has continued participating in the various G-20 summits. According to the Russian spokesperson, the country intends to continue the same trend. In line with this, Dmitry Peskov stated that Russian President Putin believes the G-7 does not sufficiently reflect the world economy. Accordingly, the country pays more attention to the G-20 and the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa)

The G 20 summit will take place in India in September 2023. The spokesperson of Russia noted that the G-7 does not reflect the economic condition of the world in a satisfactory manner and can not share the true reflection of the wants and needs of the planet. The G-20 grouping is a better reflection of the world’s economic scenario.

Meanwhile, the reports from some western analytics suggest that the share of BRICS in the global economy has surpassed the share of the G-7, which includes Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Commenting on the findings of the experts, the Spokesperson of Russia claimed that the contribution of the BRICS Countries is increasing in the global economy by the second.

Notably, Russia and India share a cordial relationship with one another, and the former has remained steadfast with their support of the country. The two nations have remained strong allies for decades and while Russia has been facing strong opposition due to their conflict with Ukraine, from the rest of the world, India has continued to engage in trade and other communications with Russia
