Douye Diri receives condolence visit from PDP leaders after father’s death

The Governor of the Bayelsa State, Douye Diri recently lost his father, Pa Abraham Diri three days before his administration: Prosperity Government completes three years. After his father’s death, Governor Diri received a condolence visit from the People’s Democratic Party State Working Committee. The condolence visit took place at the governor’s country home, Sampou.

During the visit, the People’s Democratic Party PDP, State Working Committee was led by their Chairman, Solomon Agwana. Governor Douye Diri addressed the guests who paid him a courtesy visit. He appreciated the PDP team’s gesture and expressed that we should continue living together in unity.

“I think the State party is one organ together, and you have shown this over and over. Their unity, oneness, and tolerance in the party are why we are called the People’s Democratic Party. And I am happy today that barely under 24 hours, you put yourselves together, and you are here again to show that oneness, unity, and tolerance by way of a condolence visit for the death of our father.”

Talking about his father’s death, Governor Douye Diri said, ” Yes, death is painful. Nobody, no matter how old as I keep saying, would expect his biological father or mother to leave. He further noted that the PDP members that visited him and joined him continued to thank God and the words of encouragement. There could be nothing better than that.

On behalf of our family, Kalama-owie wari in Sampou, the Diri family, the Sampou community, and the Kolokuma-Opokuma community in general, Governor Douye Diri expressed his deepest gratitude to the members of the community. Further, he noted that we must continue to live as brothers and sisters. We continue to live as one. Your interest is that our party will continue to be in leadership even in the next election.”
