The Senator of Bayelsa state, Governor Douye Diri, started the Senatorial campaign for the PDP Bayelsa Central Senatorial District. The flag-off campaign took place at Peace park, Yenagoa. The People’s Democratic party Candidates recieved party flags at the event.
During the campaign sign-off, Governor Diri delivered some remarks. He said, “I appreciate you all for coming out in large numbers to support our party. I urge you to continue to have this undying spirit that our party, the PDP, has. In all our polling units and wards, we have an undying spirit and will continue bringing infrastructural and human capital development to Bayelsa State.
Further, the Governor of Bayelsa state announced the government aid provided to the people across all the state wards. Earlier, Governor Diri announced assistance of Fifty Million naira every month across all the One Hundred and Five communities. However, now the aid has been increased to One Hundred Million Naira.
Governor Diri Reasoned that he wanted to see the people of Bayelsa owning small and medium-scale businesses. With this gesture, the Governor seeks to take control of the local economy.
He added that We are doing skill acquisition and building technical schools for our youths. According to him, they are doing this so that our state stands tall in the comity of states.
Here, Governor Douye Diri took the opportunity to talk about the upcoming presidential and senatorial elections. He believes that “It is “Four over Four” for February and March, beginning with the Presidential election, which is Atiku/Okowa, then Senatorial, Konbowei Benson.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Bayelsa announced that he believes in the House of Representatives election for the Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, people will choose Rodney Ambaiowei. Meanwhile, for Yenagoa/Kolokuma-Opokuma Federal Constituency, the choice would be Oforji Oboku. Thus, the PDP will have all our House of Assembly candidates in all Nine State constituencies in the Three Local Government areas that make up the Bayelsa Central Senatorial District.
