The Nigeria police have commenced investigations into the drowning incident, which happened on Monday, October 31, 2022, at the Banana Island residence of Davido.

Reportedly, the police authorities had arrested eight individuals from the Nigerian musician’s household for interrogation.

The police have so far released six members of the household staff. However, the nanny and cook, entrusted with caring for 3-year-old Ifeanyi in the absence of his parents, have been detained. The police will charge them with negligence.

According to the version of events presented by the nanny, she was with Ifeanyi when the head of staff joined them.

The nanny subsequently left the room, leaving the toddler with the head of staff. She went to another room to take a call.

When she returned, she did not find Ifeanyi. At this point, she assumed that the three-year-old was with the head staff. However, the head of the household staff said he left Ifeanyi with her.
