Krafton’s next BR game “Battlegrounds Mobile India” is expected to be released on June 18. Although the announcement of the replacement of PUBG Mobile has aroused heated discussions among gamers, the new controversy has caused people to question the launch of the new mobile game Krafton.
MLA Ninong Ering wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Narendra Modi) requesting that the country’s upcoming Battlegrounds Mobile India game be banned. MLA tweeted in three letters on one page, saying that the game was nothing more than a re-release of PUBG Mobile. The upcoming release of the BR name will be a way to “circumvent the law and deceive the Indian government and citizens”.
Ering said that Battlegrounds Mobile India was just a name change, and he called it “fantasy and trick.” He also mentioned that China’s Tencent is the second largest shareholder of Krafton, and the URL of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Play store continues to include PUBG Mobile. Krafton’s investment on Nodwin Gaming, which will host PUBG on its servers, raises questions about citizens’ safety and threats to the country’s privacy.
When MLA released a letter expressing concern, racist comments on PUBG’s mobile YouTube channel caused a public outcry within hours. He used the name of Paras Official in his reply, and made defamatory comments on MLA and the residents of Arunachal Pradesh in the video. According to the report, Paras Official has been registered under Article 124A/153A/505(2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).However, Youtuber later apologized for his statement.
Although the government has not yet responded to MLA’s concerns, the connection between Battlegrounds Mobile India and PUBG Mobile seems to be possible considering the Play Store URL, which has the original version name and mentions the addition of popular ones to Krafton’s new game BR.
Although the developers have confirmed that Battlegrounds Mobile India will include the Sanhok map, a recent trailer image confirms that the game will also include the Erangel map. It is worth noting that although the pronunciation remains the same, for some reason, Crafton just changed the name to “Erangel”. As a reminder, pre-registration for Battlegrounds Mobile started on May 18. Those who pre-register through the Play Store will initially receive rewards such as reconnaissance masks, reconnaissance equipment, celebration expert titles, and 300 AG.
