Roseau, Dominica: The rehabilitation of the Dominica Club grounds and facilities marks commencement in Dominica under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. Such an initiative taken in the country aims at transforming the capital, Roseau into a modern city.
During the commencement of the works at the Dominica Club, Melissa Skerrit – the minister of housing and urban development addressed the aspects that would shape the capital into a better place with all the vibrancy in it.
Roseau, the capital of Dominica with this would turn into a vibrant hub for recreation and commercial activity in alignment with Dynamic Dominica Plans. Under this project, the Dominica Club will be transformed into a premier venue for recreation, sports and entertainment.
And, the facilities at the club will involve tennis, pick a ball and squash and roller skating that will provide the city with diverse and engaging activities.
Further, the Minister outlined that this week, the commencement of the construction of phase one will be headed over. Phase 1 will include the clearing and demolition of the existing structure at the Club.
This will enhance the access to the sites and rehabilitation to the tennis courts. Such crucial steps taken forward will further lead towards the transformation ahead. The workings at the club are being done with the collaborative efforts with the Dominica Olympic Committee.
“The contributions are instrumental in complementing the government’s part financing and making this project a reality,” said the Minister Melissa Skerrit.
Considerably, by this Wednesday, the area will be transformed to an active construction site. Aligning to it, an appeal has been made to the public to be vigilant and should refrain from accessing the grounds for any other purposes.
Such cooperation would facilitate safety and ensure the smooth progress of the construction for the transformation of the Dominica Club project.
