Reno Omokri questions Peter Obi’s behaviour at Presidential debate

Nigerian Author and social media influencer Reno Omokri has publically questioned the behaviour of Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi in the widely televised presidential debate hosted on Arise TV.

Nigerian Author and social media influencer Reno Omokri has publically questioned the behaviour of Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi in the widely televised presidential debate hosted on Arise TV. The debate event was held on Sunday, November 6, 2022. 

During the event, Peter Obi allegedly snapped at another debating colleague and political leader, Dino Malaye. Subsequently, The argument caught the attention of Omokri, the author of several acclaimed publications, including Why Jesus Wept. (published by RevMedia, in the year 2015.)

Further, The social media influencer came out on Twitter, the American-owned micro-blogging website, to share his views. Through the tweet, Reno Omokri questioned the Labour Party Presidential candidate regarding his actions and behaviour. 

He questioned if Peter Obi can not control his temper on stage during the AriseTV town hall presidential debate, then how he expects to handle the country and its armed forces as the President. 

In the tweet, Omokri alleged that Obi’s actions have made it abundantly clear that his emotions rule him. Through the tweet, Omokri hinted that he did not believe that Peter Obi, Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, was the best fit for being the President of Nigeria.

In an earlier tweet, Reno Omokri shared the video of the incident, captioning his tweet with the words, Peter Obi Exchanges Hot Words With Dino Melaye Right From The AriseTV Town-Hall Stage #TableShaker

The events portrayed in the video have gone viral on the internet, shared by news portals like PM News Nigeria.

According to the video, the ‘trouble’ started when the audience could see Dino malaye calling one of the meeting’s attendants “Obi People”.

According to reports by PM News Nigeria, As one of the attendees stood up to question the presidential candidates, Dino could be heard saying, “Na wa o, Obi people.”

On hearing these words, Peter Obi snapped at the PDP official. He spoke harshly from his seat, asking Dino to stop. He insisted that he would not condone this behaviour.

Obi also revealed that the man in question, Dino Malaye addressed as ‘Obi People’, supported ANPP.
