Castries, Saint Lucia: Prime Minister Philip J Pierre extended his support for the people of Taiwan following a devastating earthquake of 7.4 magnitude. He prayed for the people who have been affected by natural disasters.
PM Pierre shared that he had called Saint Lucia’s Ambassador in Taiwan- H.E. Dr Robert K Lewis to know the update of their nationals, residing in the Republic of China (Taiwan). As per the information, the government of Taiwan is working to recover from the destruction.
The leader of Saint Lucia took to his official social media handle (Facebook) to share an update on their nationals in Taiwan.
“In the wake of the recent earthquake that has shaken the beautiful Republic of China Taiwan, I want to extend my heartfelt thoughts and solidarity to the Government and to the people. I have spoken to Saint Lucia’s Ambassador in Taiwan, H.E Dr Robert K Lewis who has accounted for our students and will work with them as the country begins to recover and monitor the shocks”, added PM Pierre.
The Prime Minister of Saint Lucia extended his full support in this tough time to all the citizens of Taiwan. He also expressed his confidence for the Taiwanese residents, who will face this adversity and rebuild the losses, they have suffered due to this terrifying earthquake.
“Do know that you have a friend in Saint Lucia, particularly during this time”, remarked PM Pierre.
Notably, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROC (Taiwan) extended their heartfelt gratitude to PM Pierre and the Government of Saint Lucia for their immense support.
They also informed them that their nationals are doing well in their country and the officials of Taiwan outlined that they are proud to have a friend like Saint Lucia.
Additionally, the earthquake occurred in Hualien Country of the Republic of China, which caused significant loss to the homes and also resulted in the destruction of many buildings.
Many people across the concerned region extended their wishes and prayed for the well-being of the people of the country.
