Bayelsa Gov Diri gives scolarship to 7 children, at new year event

The Commander recognized these children for providing them with logistic support during the flood, using a canoe to help move personnel and materials, including food items, within the neighbourhood.

The kids are Adamson Augustine, Desmond Stephen, Godwin Gideon, and Glory Felix. Anita Felix and Alade Prince.

The Governor hosted the event at the Operations headquarters in Igbogene, Yenagoa, on December 31, 2022.

During the end of the year get-together, Governor Diri thanked the Commander of Operation Delta Safe, Rear Admiral Aminu Hassan and officers of the command for inviting him to be the guest of honour. He also thanked the various security agencies in the state for working together to keep the state peaceful.

At the same time, he advised various security agencies to be apolitical. He stated that once the military takes sides with any political party, it will arrest democracy. Further, The Governor assured them of the government’s continuous support for peace and security in the state.

He said, “First, let me thank the officers and men of Operation Delta Safe here in Bayelsa State for their role in the peace and security of this state and the region”.

Further, he said, “Let me thank Rear Admiral Aminu Hassan. Under his command, we have seen peace and security in our state and region. It looks very simple, but it takes commitment and discipline to serve this country and the state of Bayelsa. There has been a synergy between the various security agencies operating in the state. I like to commend the harmony among security agencies. The way they have synergized and shared information over security concerns has largely accounted for the peace in this state,” Governor Diri stated.
