The Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, signed two bills into law on Friday, December 30, 2022. The Governor was a part of a state assembly sitting where the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Abraham Ingobere, presented the bills to the Governor. The statements include the 2023 appropriation bill of N389,371,578,563.84 and the Contributory Pensions bill.
While Performing the signing, Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri appreciated the leadership and members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly for working hard to pass the bill for his assent.
He addressed the Bayelsa State house of Assembly by saying, “Today, we are again, at record time, giving consent to these all-important two bills that have gone through the scrutiny of the State House of Assembly. In particular, the Governor mentioned the appropriation law 2023. However, he said the contributory pensions scheme law was no less important.
Further, he wanted to thank our prolific and hard-working leadership House of Assembly for their dedication. The Governor Reasoned that every other person is celebrating during the festive period. Meanwhile, The House of Assembly is ensuring that the state continues to run on the trajectory of its budget through the year 2022, from January to December. Governor Diri assured the house of the Assembly they achieved their goals throughout this year.
The Governor informed the people through his address that The prosperity agenda had been on its specified course. Further, the government is on the trajectory for our economic and human development. Therefore, the Governor of Bayelsa implores all Bayelsans to keep faith with this administration.
He urges them to continue to support our efforts to deliver on our prosperity agenda. At the same time, The Governor of Bayelsa state assured them that Prosperity is not a fluke. Gov Diri says that he believes that we can see and touch it.” Governor Diri stated.
