Gov Douye Diri inaugurates PDP senatorial campaign Council in Bayelsa

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, inaugurated the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial campaign councils on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. The Governor of the Bayelsa state, Douye Diri, through this gesture, hopes to canvass votes for Presidential candidate, Senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assembly candidates in next year’s elections.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) politicians who were inaugurated by the Governor of Bayelsa state are:

  • Fyneman Wilson is the director at Bayelsa West, 
  • Dressy Dressman is for Bayelsa East, 
  • Tonye Isenah is the Director of Bayelsa Central Senatorial District.

The inauguration ceremony for the PDP senatorial council took place at the Governor’s conference room in Government House at Yenagoa, on Tuesday.

While performing the inauguration for the People’s Democratic Party politicians, Governor Douye Diri gave them and other members of the senatorial campaign council the responsibility to give their all to make sure the People’s Democratic Party become victorious in all elections in the State in 2023.

He addressed the attendants of the inaugural event, saying, “I’ll like to congratulate you on your inauguration.”

Further, in his address, Governor Diri warned the senatorial campaign council that they must know that the forthcoming elections are going to be a different one entirely because of the introduction of the BVAS. The governor warned them that the BVAS is a call for more work. 

He encouraged the inaugurated council that Our campaigns must penetrate into all the units in the State. 

Meanwhile, Governor Diri added that the supporters and workers of the People’s Democratic Party have no option but to get to the people, who are the voters themselves. 


He warned them that their task was enormous. At the same time, Governor Diri assured the senatorial campaign council that because of the political party’s track records, they should be very sure the people are with us”, Governor Diri stated.
