The Speaker of The Nigeria Youth Parliament, Dr Azeezat Yishawu, has appointed Amb Timothy Nwachukwu LLB, The President of Youth Advocates For Peace Justice And Empowerment Network (YAPJEN), as the Director of Communication and Strategy of the Nigeria Youth Parliament (NYP).
The Appointment of Timothy Nwachukwu was contained in a letter signed by the Speaker of Nigeria Youth Parliament and made available to newsmen in Abuja, which partly read thus, “I am delighted to inform you that you have been appointed as the Director to the Speaker, Nigerian Youth Parliament on Communications and Strategy.
Your extensive experience and exceptional skills in the field make you an ideal candidate for this crucial role. Your dedication and commitment to achieving excellence will undoubtedly contribute to effectively initiating and sustaining relationships with necessary government agents”.

Your proven leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse committees will be invaluable in achieving our shared vision of progress and development”.
Furtehr, The administration of President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, GCFR founded the Nigerian Youth Parliament (NYP) in the year 2008. Additionally, note that It is the body that oversees the activities of youths in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, The Nigerian Youth Parliament is under the tutelage of the National Assembly of Nigeria. The Nigeria Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Development has founded the institution. It is a non-partisan umbrella body for Nigerian youths. They created the organization in compliance with the United Nations Charter on Youths Development.
According to the resolutions of the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in the Republic of Malta in 2005. It is a platform through which the youth can convey their opinions on government policies that directly affect them.
Further, The Nigerian Youth Parliament (NYP) is a legislative and developmental training institution. Accordingly, The authorities created the organization to strengthen, reinforce, and consolidate efforts to empower young people. Furthermore, The Youth parliament offers through meaningful youth representation in driving Nigeria’s developmental agenda.
By composition, it is a replica of the Red Chamber of the National Assembly, and as such, the Parliament comprises 109 individuals representing all senatorial districts in Nigeria.
