The celebration commemorates the day that the military power in Nigeria handed over the governance administration to an elected government. The occasion in question marks the handover of power done in 1999.

The police force of the country stated that the strength of a nation lies in the minds of its people. He urged the people to Let us embrace peace and unity as we work together to build a better Nigeria. The people of Nigeria have also responded to the wishes on the holiday.

He also made this announcement on June 6. Democracy Day is one of the country’s most important events to commemorate.
