Politician of the Commonwealth of Dominica and Member of Parliament from the Roseau Central Constituency, Melissa Poponne Skerrit, met with the students of grade six who will take their National Assessment exam. She met with the students from her national assessment champions class before the exams and extended her best wishes.
During the meeting with the students, Minister Skerrit provided them with the supplies they would need for the exam. The minister and her class of national assessment champions met on Wednesday, May 31. During the session, Melissa Skerrit interacted with sixth-grade students and gave them some treats to encourage them for their upcoming exams.
She shared the update of the meeting on her social media. In this meeting, she detailed that she gave her students a pep talk before the exams. The minister greenlit the reopening of the National Assessment Champions programme initiative for 6th Grade in Roseau Central on February 28, 2023. The minister asserted that since the beginning of this programme three years ago, the students had received scholarships among the top 10.
She explained that for the last three years, a student from Roseau Central had received a scholarship among the top ten on the island. The Minister has expressed her pride in the achievement of her children. She also stated that this year will not be any different either. According to her, the students are ready for the exams, and they will ace the tests. In line with this, Minister Skerrit extended her best wishes to the students for the upcoming exams.
“Best of luck to all students across the island in your exams!! You’ve got this!!” Skerrit stated. She also added that since the start of the programme, the value of education has started to enhance in the island nation. The exams are a preparatory step for the students who can get preparation for the future scholarships and exams to persue their further education.
