They asserted that this situation would likely arise since the country’s flu season started.

Meanwhile, the medicine producer, Tamiflu, has revealed that they expect the shortage to continue till June 2023. The removal of the mask mandates of the city has brought chronically ill children to the line of fire. Medical experts have suggested that children may go through severe complications if they simultaneously get infected with the Influenza A and Covid-19 viruses.

The Doctors in Hongkong have also shared that they can not predict the peak of the flu season since it started comparatively later. The drug manufacturer who produces the medication from the solution of Tamiflu revealed that there is a shortage. According to the report shared by the manufacturer, the situation will remain unchanged till June. Meanwhile, the doctors also confirmed the news of the deficit.

Since the bottled solution of Tamiflu is currently in short supply, the local authorities have urged the people to work around the situation. They have assured the people that they would not let the problem harm the medical staff or patients. In the meantime, the authorities have stated that in case of emergency, the patients should use the contents of the tablet form of Tamiflu and mix them in drinking water. The workaround should work until they can fix the shortage issue and bottled solutions become available again.

In line with this, the team of manufacturers also assured the people that they were working tirelessly to sort out the issue. They asserted that the supply of Tamiflu capsules had remained “very stable” in Hong Kong and other parts of the world, and it would continue to monitor demand for the drug.
