Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit welcomes international delegation

The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, recently welcomed an international delegation led by the resident coordinator for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Didier Trebucq. The commission also consisted of the FAO Sub-regional Coordinator, Dr Renata Clarke; UNDP Head of Dominica Project Office, Laura Hildebrandt and UN Country Coordination Officer for Dominica Marlon Marie.

The prime Minister shared several glimpses of the critical meeting on his social media account. The delegation visited the Prime Minister of Dominica on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. In his social media account, Dr Skerrit shared that They discussed the provision of development assistance in preparation for the Development Partners Meeting co-hosted by the Government of Dominica and the United Nations.

Further, The two parties hosted the Development Partners Meeting a day after the discussion on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. The United Nations Resident Coordinators Office for Barbados & the Eastern Caribbean is leading the roundtable discussion to strengthen the tripartite relationship among the Government of Dominica, Development Partners and the United Nations.

Meanwhile, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit is working on the cause of developing international relations of Dominica with countries and organizations across the globe. In collaboration with the United Nations, the development partners meeting hosted by the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica aligns with this government mandate.

To further his mandate of fostering close and strong bilateral ties with the rest of the world, PM Skerrit hosts regular meetings and interactions with international leaders and representatives of various countries. These meetings help the country’s leader ascertain suitable developmental avenues for the people of Dominica.

The Prime Minister regularly represents his country on various international platforms. He advocates for the benefit and well-being of the people of the Commonwealth of Dominica.
