Dominica: Roseau South Parl Rep shares achievements of 100 days in office

Chekira Lockhart-Hypolite Parliamentary Representative Roseau South Constituency, has shared a detailed list of her accomplishments while working in the government. 

The government of the Commonwealth of Dominica recently completed 100 days. Some politicians of the Dominica Labour Party have taken to their respective social media accounts to update the people regarding their accomplishments during the three months. Recently, Chekira Lockhart-Hypolite Parliamentary Representative Roseau South Constituency, has shared a detailed list of her accomplishments while working in the government. 

  • Construction of Digital Innovation Hub at the Newtown Primary School.
  • Grassing of the Loubiere Playing Field
  • Work in Progress on Eggleston Housing.
  • Consultation with Harlem Sports and Community Club on the re-lighting of the Newtown Savannah
  • 3 Scholarships are given to Roseau South Students to begin studies in Cuba
  • A meeting was held with white potato farmers to ensure that they took full advantage of the season
  • Re-Structured the NEP Beautification and Clean-Up Teams.
  • Provided Financial Support to all our Pageant Contestants.
  • Provided Financial Support to the Newtown Bwa Bwa Academy.
  • New Storage facility for the Newtown Bwa Bwa Academy.
  • Revitalization of the Newtown Yachting Security Services.
  • The boat was provided to the Newtown Fisheries Co-operative for the provision of Yachting Security Services.
  • Lawnmower purchased for the Harlem Sports and Community Club.
  • Housing Assessments were completed in Silverlake and Newtown.
  • Assistance is given to facilitate healthcare
  • Assistance is given to bury loved ones.
  • Small Housing Repairs have been undertaken.
  • On International Women’s Day, all our women principals in the pre-schools and primary schools were appreciated.
  • On Valentines Day, cupcakes and Wine were given to constituents.
  • Facilitated employment of constituents both in the private and public sector

Chekira Lockhart-Hypolite also engaged iin several other initiatives to develop and uplift her constituency.

  • Discussions with the Village Councils on collaborative projects within the constituency.
  • Discussion with Dowosco on improving the water supply at Kingshill and Giraudel
  • Final Discussion with the Architect on the layout for the Kingshill Community Center.
  • Chekira Lockhart-Hypolite worked on introducing an improvement to the washroom facility at Morne Bruce.
