Russia to simplify Visa processing for Indian Citizens

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has laid out a plan to simplify visa applications for India shortly. The Deputy Foreign Minister, Yevgeny Ivanov, announced the update during a media interaction on Monday, March 5, 2023.

The simplification of the visa regime of Russia for Indian Citizens would also fulfil the latter’s demand for the same.

India has been asking for a simpler visa regulation for facilitating travel to Russia from India. Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry of Russia announced that they are working on agreements to simplify visa agreements with the countries like Indonesia, Vietnam, Syria, Angola and the Philippines.

In a previous media engagement, the Foreign Minister of Russia announced that the country is working to implement visa-free travel to eleven countries. The list includes Trinidad and Tobago, the Bahamas, Barbados, Haiti, Bahrain, Oman, Malaysia, Kuwait, Mexico, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

The announcement of the simplification of Visa Regulation comes shortly after Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov visited India to attend the G20 Foreign Ministers Meeting. The meeting took place the previous week. During the meeting, the minister applauded the initiative of India and asserted that India deserves a position of power.

He also called the country highly responsible. He also took the opportunity to applaud the Indian Prime Minister on critical issues of global significance. According to Minister Lavrov, the Prime Minister of India represented a balanced and responsible position during the G-20 Presidency. Meanwhile, it is worth noting that India and Russia share a long and special relationship.

The countries have shared profound ties since the time of India’s independence. The leaders of Russia hold the government and its leaders in the highest regard. The relationship between the two nations can not be dictated to or directed by the other countries, which are not a part of this special dynamic. India is the fifth-largest economy in the world. The experts believe the country will surpass Japan and Germany soon to become the world’s third-largest economy.
