Gov Douye Diri attends Campaign Launch at Kaduna

The Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, attended the election campaign launch of the People's Democratic Party in Kaduna.

The Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, attended the election campaign launch of the People’s Democratic Party in Kaduna. The campaign aims to inform the State’s people about the political party’s promises, plans and pledges. The campaign launch event took place on February 6, 2022, in Zonkwa. The area is the headquarters of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Governor Diri joined his friend, Sunday Marshal Katung. Katung is Governor Douye Diri’s former colleague in the House of Reps. Additionally, he is the senatorial candidate of the Kaduna South constituency. Meanwhile, here it is worth mentioning that Sunday Marshal Katung is the People’s Democratic party’s (PDP) governorship candidate in the State.

Nigeria is hosting senatorial and governorship elections in several parts of the country. These elections will also be happening alongside the Presidential elections. Nigeria will host the presidential elections on February 25, 2023. Ahead of these elections, Governor Douye Diri accompanied Isa Ashiru and other candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Southern Kaduna to launch their 2023 election campaign.

The launch ceremony also featured the presentation ceremony of the PDP flags. The political leaders who were part of the rally had the chance to interact with the people of the area. The political leaders communicated their vision with the people of the area. The various politicians shared their plans for the future of the people of the region.

Former Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, former Kaduna State governor and one-time acting PDP National Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi, former GMD, NNPC, Andrew Yakubu, Former Director-General, National Emergency Management Agency, Dr Sani Sidi and the Bayelsa PDP State chairman, Chief Solomon Agwana were also in attendance at the PDP rally.

Governor Douye Diri took to his social media account to share the update on his social media account. At the same time, he noted that, PDP remains the party to beat in Southern Kaduna and indeed Kaduna State in the 2023 general election.
