Professor Michael Ogueke has wished his reader a pleasant start to the week. He composed a poem for his readers

Nigerian Writer and political economist Professor Michael Ogueke has wished his reader a pleasant start to the week. He composed a poem for his readers on his social media profile, which went as follows:

Lord, I hope this day is good
I’m feelin’ empty and misunderstood
I should be thankful, Lord, I know I should
But Lord I hope this day is good
Lord, have you forgotten me
I’ve been prayin’ to you faithfully
I’m not sayin’ I’m a righteous man
But Lord I hope you understand
I don’t need fortune and I don’t need fame
Send down the thunder, Lord. Send down the rain
But when you’re plannin’ just how it will be
Plan a good day for me
Lord, I hope this day is good
I’m feelin’ empty and misunderstood
I should be thankful, Lord. I know I should
But Lord, I hope this day is good
You’ve been the King since the dawn of time
All that I’m askin’ is a little less crime
It might be hard for the devil to do
But it would be easy for you
Lord, I hope this day is good
I’m feelin’ empty and misunderstood
I should be thankful, Lord. I know I should
But Lord I hope this day is good

The poem had a melancholy tone as the author tried to express his sadness about being misunderstood and empty. He thanked his Lord, the almighty, for all they had done and hoped for a good day.

In the poem, which Michael Ogueke had composed in the form of a prayer, he expressed that he did not need fortune or fame. On the other hand, he asked for peace in the form of a good day.

Further, into the poem, he asks for crime reduction. He cited that it might be difficult for the devil (symbolic of bad influences) to achieve, however not for the lord.

He confessed to feeling misunderstood and reiterated his hope for a good day. Then he wished for his audience readers et al. to have a good day and week ahead.
